Got your first battery-powered EV (BEV) in your life and can’t wait to drive it for your next road trip? I have been driving BEV for the past 1 year and here are the list of apps that I would recommend you to download before starting your long distance trip to avoid range anxiety! There are 3 types of important apps for you: EV stations locator, route planner and Charge Point Operators (CPO) payment apps.

  1. Agmo EV

Agmo EV is the only SuperApp in Malaysia designed for Malaysia EV users. It comes with comprehensive functions, such as:

  • Station locators (nearby and search by locations)
  • Route planner
  • In-app messaging system by vehicle plate number to preserve privacy (for instance: when someone hogging)
  • Apple Car Play and Android Auto support
  • To make payment with selected CPOs (coming soon)

  1. Plugshare

Plugshare allows you to locate EV charging stations nearby or in specific locations. However, it doesn’t come with the functions to filter by CPO brand or charging methods (kwh/time) compared with Agmo EV.

  1. ABRP

ABRP allows you to plan your trip from point A to point B based on your vehicle’s battery capacity and state of charge (SOC). However, it supports mostly DC chargers only with a relatively lesser charger database in Malaysia compared with Agmo EV.

  • chargEV: To pay for chargEV operated EV charging stations
  • PETRONAS Setel: To pay for Gentari operated EV charging stations
  • JomCharge: To pay for JomCharge operated EV charging stations
  • Go-To-U: To book and pay for TNB operated EV charging stations
  • ChargeSini: To book and pay for ChargeSini operated EV charging stations
  • ParkEasy: To book and pay for ParkEasy operated EV charging stations
