Malaysian teams often work across English, Mandarin, Malay and other languages in the same meeting. Lark Minutes turns a call into a transcript with AI notes and action items, and offers translation. Here is what Lark says it does and how to use it well.

What Lark Minutes does
According to Lark's own blog on AI meeting minutes, Lark Minutes transcribes video calls into transcripts that are searchable and interactive. The blog describes real-time automatic transcription that connects to collaborative documents and task managers, so the record of a meeting sits next to the work it produces.
The same blog describes AI Meeting Notes, which condense a long discussion into short bullet points, flag action items and translate the conversation. It adds that people can comment on, highlight and react to parts of a transcript, so colleagues who missed the call can catch up asynchronously.
Translation: live and after the call
Lark describes translation in two places. During a meeting, Lark's Meetings material describes live subtitles that can be translated. After the meeting, the Minutes blog describes one-click translation of the transcript into multiple languages.
Language support is not the same everywhere. Which languages work for live subtitles, for transcription and for translation can differ, and Lark updates them over time. If your meetings mix English with Mandarin, Malay or another language, test your own language pair in a short internal call before you use it with a client.
Other features worth knowing
The blog lists playback at custom speeds with automatic fast-forwarding through silent segments, which helps when you only need a few minutes of a long recording. It also describes action items being flagged from commitments made in the conversation and listed at the top of the summary.
Lark's pricing section on the same blog says its free Starter plan includes AI translations, with 1-on-1 video meetings only, while group calling is listed on a paid plan. Plans and prices change, so check Lark's current pricing page for your region.
Where multilingual teams could use it
These are suggestions for how a team could apply the features, not published results.
- Regional coordination calls: share a translated transcript with colleagues who prefer another language.
- Supplier and partner calls: keep a searchable record of what was agreed, with action items listed.
- Weekly operations reviews: let the AI notes produce the first draft of minutes, then correct names and figures.
- Training sessions: share the recording and transcript so staff can review at their own pace.
- Hybrid teams: give people who joined late or missed the call a quick summary instead of a recording to watch.
Keep a person in charge of the record
AI transcripts can mishear names, numbers and technical terms, especially when several people speak at once or switch languages. Treat AI notes as a draft: check decisions, figures and owners before you circulate them, and tell participants when a call is being recorded or transcribed, following your company's policy.
Try it: step by step
- Schedule the meeting in Lark and open it as a Lark video meeting.
- Turn on live subtitles and choose a translation language if your version offers it.
- Let Lark transcribe the call, and note any language that is not handled well.
- After the meeting, open the minutes from the meeting record or from Lark Minutes.
- Read the AI notes and action items, then correct names, numbers and owners.
- Use the translate option to produce a transcript in a second language if colleagues need it.
- Share the minutes with the attendees and link the action items to your task list.
